The question

Many faceless channels publish videos of 8 minutes or more, the length at which YouTube lets a video carry mid-roll ads, and every tool prices differently: per month, per minute, per credit, per export. So we asked two questions of each: what do you pay to make one 8-minute, horizontal (16:9) video with narration, downloadable without a watermark, and what does that video cost if you use every minute of a monthly plan? The first is what a new channel pays; the second, a channel posting every week.

What you pay for one video

A monthly plan costs its full price even if you make one video with it. This is the least each tool takes before you have one 8-minute video, with no annual commitment.

What we found

For one video, Alpy and Crreo cost the least of the tools that state minutes ($14). Alpy sells one video at a fixed price; Golpo's pay-as-you-go is the only other way here to pay without a plan, at $3.99 to $7.99 a minute.
Drawn scenes in your own recorded voice are rare. Of the 12, only Alpy and Golpo draw the scenes for you and take your own recording, and Golpo's costs $499.99 a month or $3.99 to $7.99 a minute. VideoScribe and Doodly take your audio too, but you place every drawing yourself.
Price per minute varies about tenfold among tools that state it, from Crreo's $0.23 to StickReel's $2.38 (its 16 monthly credits buy 8 minutes in its simplest style). Alpy's is $1.45, Golpo's $1.28 and Pictory's $0.97.
Three of 12 tools do not say what a minute costs. Fliki, invideo AI and HeyGen sell credits, and a minute's credits depend on the voice, avatar or AI footage used. You learn the real cost after you make something.
