Can ChatGPT make a video from my script with drawings?

Not on its own: ChatGPT writes the script and can draw single pictures, but it does not give you a finished, narrated video with a drawing for each part. Ask ChatGPT for the script, then paste the whole reply into a tool that reads it aloud and draws it, such as Alpy. An AI voice narrates the script, Alpy draws a simple scene for each part with one recurring character, and every drawing cuts in on the words it shows. Scripts need 110 to 2,700 words, and a free preview shows the first 10 seconds before you pay.

OpenAI's Sora makes short video clips; it is a separate product and does not turn a several-minute script into one narrated video either.

How to do it, step by step

  • Ask ChatGPT for a script written to be spoken. Say the topic, the length (about 150 words a minute), and that it should be plain narration: short sentences, one idea each, no scene directions. The prompt below does this.
  • Paste the whole reply into the studio. In Alpy's studio, choose AI voice and paste it. The title, labels such as "Hook:", notes in [brackets] and stage directions such as "(pause)" are left out of the narration, and the studio shows what will not be read. If ChatGPT gave you a plan with shots and a cast instead of a script, the studio says so and can write the narration from it.
  • Pick a voice and a delivery. Six AI voices, each in 4 deliveries, from calm to high energy. Each has a sample to listen to first. Or read the script yourself and upload the recording.
  • Pick a character. One of the free characters, such as a stickman, a cat or a raccoon, or upload your own drawing. It appears in every scene.
  • Watch the free preview, then finish. The first 10 seconds are narrated, drawn and cut before you pay. Finish the whole video, redraw any scene you do not like, and download the MP4.

A prompt for ChatGPT

Write a YouTube narration script.

First, ask me:
1. Topic? If I have none, ask what my channel is about
and suggest 3 topics for it.
2. Length? 1m / 3m / 5m / 8m / 10m / 15m
3. Character? Hamster / Stickman / Raccoon / Penguin / Bear / Frog / Cat / Fox / Owl / Duck / custom / none
4. Tone? funny / educational / storytelling / serious / choose for me

Rules:
- Narration only. No scene notes, timestamps or section labels.
- Open with the most interesting part.
- Don't make up facts, numbers or quotes.
- About 150 words per minute (8m = about 1,200 words).

Return:
TITLE:
SCRIPT:

Paste it into ChatGPT as it is. It asks for the topic, length, character and tone, then writes narration only, which is what a video tool reads best.

What a finished one looks like

Both were made from typed scripts in the studio, the way any customer's video is made. They are Alpy's own examples.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Asking for "a video script" and getting a shot list. A table of scenes, camera notes and a cast list is a plan, not narration. Ask for the words to be spoken.
  • Facts nobody checked. ChatGPT can state wrong numbers confidently, and the drawings show what the script says. Check figures and names before you generate.
  • Too long for a first try. Two to five minutes is easier to judge than twenty.
  • Expecting Shorts. Alpy makes horizontal 16:9 videos for YouTube, not vertical Shorts or Reels.

Where Alpy is not the right fit

  • Six AI voices, not a large voice library, and no voice cloning
  • Horizontal 16:9 only, no vertical Shorts
  • One deliberately simple drawing style, not polished animation
  • No free plan beyond the preview

Questions

Can ChatGPT make a video?
ChatGPT writes scripts and draws single images; OpenAI's Sora makes short clips. Neither gives you a minutes-long narrated video with a drawing for each part of a script, which is what a tool such as Alpy adds.
Can I paste ChatGPT's whole reply?
Yes. Titles, labels, notes in brackets and stage directions are left out of the narration, and the studio shows what will not be read before you start.
Is the voice an AI voice?
If you choose one: six AI voices, clearly labelled as AI-generated. You can also record or upload your own reading. Alpy never clones a voice.
How long can the video be?
Scripts can be 110 to 2,700 words, and videos up to 20 minutes. About 150 words make a minute at a calm pace.
Who owns the video?
You keep the rights in your scripts and finished videos. Alpy does not train AI models on them.
How much does it cost?
The preview is free with no card. Finishing one video is $7 a video or $29/month.
