What makes a script work on YouTube
- A hook in the first two sentences. Viewers decide in seconds; open on the question or the surprise, not on a greeting.
- One idea per sentence, said the way you would say it. Written English read aloud sounds stiff.
- A concrete example for each point. It keeps people watching, and gives a drawn video something to show.
- A payoff that answers the hook, then stop. A long goodbye is where viewers leave.
For the structure section by section, see the YouTube script template; to check how long a script runs, the script length calculator.
Questions
- Is the YouTube script generator free?
- Yes. It needs no account, and you can write 3 scripts a day. Making the video from the script in Alpy is paid, and you see the price before you pay.
- How long is the script it writes?
- It writes for the length you pick at 150 words a minute, an average narration pace: about 150 words for 1 minute, 450 for 3, 750 for 5 and 1,200 for 8 minutes, the length at which YouTube allows mid-roll ads.
- What language does it write in?
- The language you type the topic in. A topic in Spanish gets a Spanish script.
- Can I use the script on a monetized channel?
- Yes, it is yours to use. Check every fact before you publish, since AI can be confidently wrong, and make it your own: YouTube rewards original, edited work, not mass-produced text.
- How do I turn the script into a video?
- Press "Turn it into a drawn video". Alpy opens with the script in its box; read it in your own voice or pick an AI voice, choose a character, and Alpy draws a scene for every line.
