Add Alpy to Claude once and the scriptwriter comes with it. No prompt to paste, no four-thousand-word brief to keep in a note somewhere. Say what the video is about, answer four questions, and read the result into the Studio.

  1. Open Claude’s connector settings

    In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors. It’s the same place browser and desktop both use.

  2. Add custom connector

    Choose “Add custom connector” at the bottom of the list.

  3. Paste Alpy’s URL

    Name it Alpy and paste https://tryalpy.com/mcp — the address of this page — as the remote MCP server URL. Claude detects “No sign-in” on its own: the scriptwriter needs no account and no token.

  4. Ask for a script

    Enable Alpy in a new chat and say what your video is about. Claude asks four questions and writes the script.

Answer them in your first message and you get the script in one turn. You get back a title, a hook, and narration that is ready to read aloud — no scene directions, no timestamps, no notes to yourself. Alpy’s illustrator decides the pictures once you record it, or once an AI voice reads it.

Let your agent make the video too

With an API key, an agent like Claude Code, Cursor or OpenClaw goes the whole way: it writes the script, picks the character, starts the video and checks back until it’s ready, then hands you the MP4. It acts as you, with your characters and your video minutes, and asks before spending them on a full video.

  1. Make a key in Settings → Your AI agent.
  2. Connect it. In Claude Code:claude mcp add --transport http alpy https://tryalpy.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer alpy_…"
  3. Ask: “Make me a 3-minute Alpy video about why cats knock things off tables.”

Writing costs nothing and spends none of your video minutes; minutes are used only when Alpy makes a video. Without an API key the connector can’t read your projects, your recordings, or your account: it answers with a writing brief and nothing else. A key can be revoked any time in Settings. Cursor and other MCP clients can use the same URL, as can anything already pointed at /api/mcp.
