Channel ideas
Faceless YouTube channel ideas, and how to start one
Pick a niche where the words carry the video: history, science, psychology, money, stories, book summaries, survival or explainers for kids. These work without a face or footage because a narrator and simple drawings are enough. Choose one you could make fifty videos about, give the channel one recurring character so viewers recognise it, and post on a schedule you can keep. Each idea below links to a full guide.

How to pick yours
- Fifty videos deep. Write down fifty titles before you start. If you stall at fifteen, the niche is too narrow for you.
- A question people already ask. Titles that answer a real question (why, how, what happened) are the ones search and suggested videos keep sending viewers to.
- Something you would read about anyway. You will research every video; pick a subject that does not feel like homework.
- Words carry it. If the video needs real footage to make sense (cooking, product reviews, travel), simple drawings will not carry it.
How to start a faceless YouTube channel
- Create the channel with a name that says the niche, and a profile picture of your recurring character.
- Write the first script to a set length. An 8-minute video is about 1,200 words read aloud; the script template splits it into a hook, a setup, three points and an ending.
- Narrate it in your own voice, or pick an AI voice. Your own voice is the one thing another channel cannot copy; see faceless videos without an AI voice.
- Illustrate it. In Alpy, upload the recording or paste the script: it draws a scene for each part of what is said, with one character throughout, and gives you a title, description and thumbnail.
- Publish on a schedule you can keep for three months, then look at which videos held viewers and make more like them.
- Track the road to monetization with the monetization calculator: subscribers, watch hours and views still to go.
Questions
- What is a faceless YouTube channel?
- A channel where the creator never appears on camera. Videos are carried by a narrator, in their own voice or an AI voice, over drawings, footage or animation.
- What are the best faceless YouTube channel ideas?
- Niches where the words carry the video: history, science, psychology, money, true and fictional stories, book summaries, survival stories and explainers for kids.
- How do I start a faceless YouTube channel with no money?
- Write and narrate the scripts yourself, record on a phone in a quiet room, and use free tools to edit. In Alpy, setting a video up is free and you see its price before you pay.
- Can faceless channels be monetized?
- Yes, if they meet the YouTube Partner Program's requirements and add original value. YouTube's policies exclude mass-produced, repetitive content, so a real script and narration matter.
